A Brief Look into the History of Ohio State University  

The history of Ohio State University goes back to 1870 when it was founded as a land-grant university. Its original name was the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College.

It was not until 1978, when the campus began taking-on all functionalities of a university, that it changed its name to " Ohio State University". During the late 1880's the educational institution's law school was founded. Then, prestigious and acclaimed medical, dentistry, commerce and journalism courses were offered.
