Introduction to the University
The North Harris Montgomery Community College District, now known as The Lone Star College System, is accredited through the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Adding additions credibility and status to degrees and certificates earned at this college, individual programs at Lone Star are approved by numerous national associations and state agencies. Simply put, LSCS is a two-year community college system which is publicly funded. It serves the students who live in the Greater Houston area in Texas. It is currently the largest community college in Houston and the third-largest community college district in the state.
